'The West Nile Virus is a deadly virus that is spread by infectious mosquitoes. This virus was first discovered in 1937 in the West Nile of Uganda , Africa . This virus was first noticed in America in New York City in 1999, there were 62 people confirmed of WNV and 6 deaths in total that summer. The spreading of the virus has begun on 11 states on the east coast and has also beginning to spread to the southern states (i.e Florida-Texas) and some more north-western states (i.e Colorado , N.&S. Dakota, Nebraska and Wyoming . )
In 2008 there were several different cases of the disease, most of these cases taking place in the southern part of Connecticut.
West nile virus is maintained naturally in connecticut. If a mother has west nile when she lays her eggs, her offspring will be born with west nile.
